Portraiture 2024

I feel a raw emotional intensity radiating from it. The sharp, jagged lines and the fragmented contours of the face remind me of something sculptural, almost like early Cubism or maybe even the distortions in German Expressionism. The way the charcoal is used—all those smudges and streaks—gives the drawing a restless energy, as if it’s alive and struggling with something deep. It feels personal, almost vulnerable, but at the same time speaks to something universal.
